What are holistic therapies?
Holistic therapies or holistic treatments are those that see and treat pathologies and patients as a whole. In holistic therapies it is not possible to look and analyze only one symptom or pathology, because based in this method, we are only analyzing a fragmented version of the real.
Four elements from Holistic Therapies
For holistic therapists it is not possible to divide physical symptoms (body) from psychological and emotional (mind) and spiritual (energy and chakra) symptoms.
These four elements (body, mind, emotion and spirit) form a delicate and self-influencing system. Holistic therapies argue that most of our symptoms and physical problems are reflections of an imbalance of the remaining 3 elements.
We see this when, from a state of anxiety, for example, we’ve insomnia, malaise, nausea, increased heart rate, among other symptoms.
There are also those who consider a system formed by 6 bodies: physical body, mental body, emotional body, spiritual body, energetic body and soul bodies.
Holistic Therapies’s Benefits
Holistic therapies seek to balance all these four elements and to influence one another positively, so, it is not always necessary to have a specific disease or symptom. Many people in holistic therapies seek a way to embrace their self-knowledge and explore all of their elements, especially the emotional and spiritual elements, reaching the fullness of well-being.
